Today we are going to talk about different reminiscing activities to help engage seniors with.

Keeping seniors engaged and making them feel welcome and wanted often helps prevent loneliness and isolation which can lead to depression.

Some of the best ways to keep senior engaged are either talking about current news, family events and reminiscing about the past.

Many seniors who have dementia will lose their short-term memory before their long-term memory.  So developing some reminiscing activities with them will keep them engaged and keep them feeling like they are still an imperative part of the family.

Additionally, grandchildren will enjoy learning new information about their parent’s upbringing and events that shaped their lives.  It can be great to learn where your parents came from.
