Today we talk about ADLs or activities of daily living.

Most people are not aware of what this acronym is and what it represents.

In the home care world, it is extremely important to know what activities of daily living are and how they determine the type of care your loved one will get.

ADLS: What You Need To Know

Activities of daily living are the basic tasks like eating, dressing, bathing and toileting that become more challenging and difficult as we grow older.

When you speak with a senior care specialist, whether it be for home care, assisted living, or nursing homes, ADLs and your parent’s abilities will come up in conversations.

ADLs are also important because it determines if someone is eligible for their long-term care insurance policy they have.

So watch our short video to understand what the activities of daily living are.
